Here is a little tip I picked up while doing some research into web site development
and promotion. It is a simple but very effective way to get a web page listed in
Google within just a few hours or less.
Search engine submission programs are about as obsolete as the keystroke
typewriter. Traditional submission programs are no longer really necessary and
do not guarantee inclusion into Google. These days most web pages are found and
indexed automatically, when one of Google’s greedy little spiders crawl the web
looking for fresh new content to devour. Once the Google spider crawls your web
site, instantly it is listed into Google according to the rank it gives you and
the way in which your pages have been keyword optimized.
The way you can call one of the little information starved Google spiders to
come to dinner is to do a search using the Google Toolbar. This will require
that you first download and install the Google toolbar. To download the Google
Toolbar go to
http://toolbar.google.com/. (To learn all more about the various
functions of the Google Toolbar go to:
http://toolbar.google.com/help.html How It Works:
After you've downloaded and installed the Google Toolbar, notice the green
PageRank strip just above the Google logo. Now rest your mouse cursor on top of
the PageRank strip and a text box will appear showing the PageRank number of the
site you are on. It shows a PR of between 0 and 10. Very few sites if any have a
PageRank of 10. What you eventually want is a 4/10 or above.
To get your web pages quickly indexed or listed into Google and Yahoo, enter the
index page URL of your site into the Google Search box. Next, click the Search
Web button next to it, and Google will begin searching for your URL.
This action will instantly call the Google Spiders to come search your web pages
and immediately your site will get listed into Google... that's it!
YOU ARE NOW INDEXED IN GOOGLE!
You will know when the #1 page (the index page) to your site has been indexed
when you look at the Google Toolbar Page Rank indicator. There you will find the
bar color is "White". This indicates Google has you indexed. This does not
mean you can instantly do a search in Google for your site and see it listed,
though. It means your web site has been indexed and is waiting in the queue to
appear.
NOTE #1: For reasons unknown to anyone, sometimes your page may not get index
for several hours, several days or weeks. Some index within one or two hours.
However, you must be patient if your pages do not show they've been indexed.
NOTE #2: At the start, you will not have a Page Rank worth mentioning. That will
come from getting inbound links from other sites, among other things. That is a
topic for discussion in another article.
This little trick works like a charm. Within about twenty-four hours of
my setting up a new site, I was able to see in my statistics that the Google
crawler had been there several times. Give it a shot! John Forman has been developing and promoting web sites covering an array of businesses, organizations, topics, and functions for several years. To see some of the

Site submission is just one way to get traffic.
Here is another. Traffic from expired domains is
available when the domain names of sites with good

Traffic brokers then buy these names and offer the
traffic at reasonable cost to webmasters. If chosen
carefully it can be very targeted.
